Far away from the usual tourist routes, you’ll discover a side of North Macedonia that few visitors
ever get to see. This jeep safari combines stunning scenery, local culture and an exciting off-road
experience.
Off-road through the mountains of Debarca
From Ohrid, we head towards the mountain village of Kuratica, where the off-road adventure
begins. Driving along unpaved mountain roads, we explore the remote Debarca region, an area that
was once full of life but is now largely abandoned. Along the way, we pass traditional villages and
enjoy spectacular mountain views.
Coffee at natural springs
During the journey, we stop at one of the region’s natural springs. Take a moment to enjoy a coffee
or refreshing drink while surrounded by peace, nature and fresh mountain air.
Views of two lakes
Our route continues higher into the mountains, reaching an altitude of around 1,700 metres. At the
highest point, you’ll be rewarded with incredible views over both Lake Ohrid and Lake Prespa. Here
we take time to relax, enjoy a traditional Macedonian snack and capture some unforgettable photos.
Lunch with locals
After descending back towards Kuratica, we end the day with a traditional Macedonian lunch
hosted by local residents. It’s the perfect way to experience not only the natural beauty of the region,
but also the famous hospitality and culture of North Macedonia.
